Your Baby In Pictures-Giveaway

I hit 300 fans on Facebook!! Whoo hoo! Thank you guys! I thought as a thank you I would have a giveaway!!!

I was so excited when I found out about Me Ra Koh’s new book – Your Baby in Pictures: The New Parents’ Guide to Photographing Your Baby’s First Year. I actually pre-ordered it and checked the mail daily for it to arrive.

When it did I was super giddy! I realize I don’t have a baby and you may wonder why I wanted this book so bad. I’ll tell you :O) I have been searching and searching for a fabulous baby gift to give my friends. My dream gift would be to photograph their little one for them but since we live in Japan that isn’t likely to happen for my friends in the States. I wanted to share my love of photography with my friends so they are able to capture their baby.

This book is great for the parents with a point and shoot or who shoot in manual mode with a DSLR. She has over 40 “recipes” to help you capture the pictures like the ones in the book. One of my favorite parts is it breaks up your child’s growth with these photo ops…0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months. You wouldn’t take the same photos of a 6 week old as you would of an 11 month old. She has thought of everything! Seriously!

Luckily for me I have found my new baby gift. So watch out if you are a pregnant friend of mine :O) Also, I realize the title says “new parents”. This is a wonderful book for parents even if this isn’t your first baby. I know I didn’t know anything about photography when my first two were born but would have LOVED a book like this!

Since I love you guys so much I bought an extra one for you!!

Here is how to enter:

  • You must leave a comment telling us what your favorite book is. It can be a photography book, an interesting autobiography, or a juicy summer romance book.

  2. My favourite book is Jodi Picoult’s ‘My Sister’s Keeper’
I read it waaay before the movie come out and no matter how many times I read it, it gets to me everytime. My best friend passed away from Leaukemia and I am amazed at how well Jodi brings all the emotions to life through her writing.

    • My best friend from childhood died from Leaukemia as well which is actually why I haven’t read this yet. May consider reading it now though :O)

      • My best friend from childhood also died of leukemia. She was only 28 when she died and left behind a hubbie and 2 little ones (2 and 4).

  3. I would be so thrilled to win this. My first grandbaby is coming in October and I plan to take lots of pictures! My favorite book is The Help.

  4. I know I don’t have a baby, and not even close to having one, but this would be awesome for the future or for me to take pictures of other peoples babies! :D My favourite book is “The Notebook” by Nicholas Sparks :)

  16. oooh! pick me pick me! i’m your pregnant friend :)!! that book looks amazing!

my favorite book right now is ‘7 habits of highly effective families’ by steven covey. at first i thought it was a cheezy spin off of his first 7 habits book, but it is a really insightful tool for ‘building a beautiful family culture’ in your home. he uses a lot of the Bible and so many inspiring stories about creating a great environment for your family at any stage.

  22. Favorite book…..hmmmmmm. Well After the Bible I would have to say currently any Little House on the Prairie book. Well, not the book as much as the time I get to spent with my girls while we read it. I can see their little minds working as they make thier own pictures in their heads.

  23. Well everyone is sounding way more sophisticated then me but I love the Twilight series ;).

  24. I can’t choose a favorite book and I rarely re-read, but I sure do love “The Horse and His Boy” by C.S. Lewis, or anything else by him.

I have actually been looking for it online and have found it and plan to order it as finances allow! Since I average reading at least 4 books a month and it has been a fave for that long says a lot!

  62. I have two favorites. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks which I had two copies of because my husband so sweetly bought me a copy because he just knew I would enjoy if. Little did he know I had just finished reading it! He was 0 for 2 that Christmas along with a ring that said MOM but if you turned it around, it said WOW!! My other favorite is Pinkalicious. I just love reading that book, along with all the others in the series, with my girls :) I have to give credit to your sister for giving that book to my oldest for her birthday before we left FL!

  65. I *LOVE* The Notebook. It makes me cry every time.

This book would be absolutely perfect for me! I am 33 weeks pregnant (but already dilating-eek!) with my 2nd boy. With my first, I wasn’t into photography so my pictures of him are mediocre at best. But now that I’ve learned all about my dslr and have improved by leaps and bounds, I would love to make sure that I know everything I need to know to get great pictures of him.

    Thank you for the chance!

  69. Photographing my little boy is what got me started and what a cool idea for the next child. As for favorite book, I really haven’t read that many on photography so all time favorite would have to be The Horse Whisper by Nicholas Evans (which is so much better than the movie.)

  70. My favorite book series is Francine River’s The Mark of the Lion series- can’t remember the individual book names, but I have read them all several times. If you haven’t read them you really should!
