Since I have been doing a few more shoots for friends lately, I have done a lot of research on “posing” them. Of course, I want extremely natural shots but I know I need to help guide them during the shoot. I found this great article on posing family to couples to seniors by Tara Staton of Captivate. She has a lot of great tips including continue to shoot even if the child is having a fit. You never know what you will get. I really like how she stresses making your clients feel comfortable. Although she writes this from a photographer/client stand point, you can still find a lot of tips to help “pose” your own kiddos and friends.
