This comment has nothing do with this post, but I just finished reading this blog start to finish. As a result I have decided to buy the 50mm prime lense for my canon t2i. I am wondering how you feel about mega pixels. I don’t normally blow up my images to bigger than 8×10 so I normally shoot with 8MP. My camera will shoot 18 MP and I think the next largest file size is 8 MP. The 18 MP is way too large for me to feel comfortable storing on my computer, so that’s why I do the 8MP.

Here’s a article that breaks down mega pixels for you – http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm If you aren’t comfortable with storing such large images on your computer, have you thought about storing them on an external hard drive? I shoot in RAW so my files are huge. I store them all on my external hard drive which gets backed up daily by a back-up company online. Hope this helps!

I do have an external hard drive, but really my pictures are not good enough to be taking as huge files. I usually keep the most recent year’s pictures on my computer and then back them up on the hard drive. I am also in the process of backing all of them up on flash drives (to put in our safety deposit box). Thanks for the article. I will check it out.
