CMteam All Access Pass-CM Break Out Session Review
Editing, Lifestyle

It’s no secret that I LOVE Clickin’ Moms. I mean big old puffy heart love them! Besides being a fabulous group of women who would love nothing more than to share their knowledge and encourage you, they offer workshops and break out sessions.

Break out sessions? What’s that you ask?

Well, basically it’s a cost friendly way to soak up a ton of information! The sessions normally include one photographer who focuses on one topic and created a PDF chock full of information. Then it is open for about 2 weeks so you are able to interact with others who have purchased the break out session in a private forum. The instructor does not answer questions through out the two weeks the session is open but they do have a “drop box” where you can submit your questions. After the two weeks Megan Cieloha asks some of the questions to the instructor over a 60 minute video conference and you are able to download that as well. The sessions are normally $25 or $50. I have done a TON of them. I’m kind of a break out session addict!

Okay, now that we are all on the same page, let me tell you about a deal they are having now! They are currently offering an all access pass for their break out session. This means they have 5, yes 5, talented photographers as the instructors with 5 different topics that are covered. There is a wealth of information to be gathered here! Between the 5 sessions there are over 150 pages of information on PDF’s! Clickin’ Moms has only offered this type of deal one other time since they started break out sessions over a year ago. That means you get all 5 sessions for ONLY $50. Don’t miss out!

Let’s talk about the 5 different sessions and why you need to stop reading this review and just head over, purchase the break out session, and join in the fun!

Against the Grain-Elle Walker

I found this session to be so fascinating. I admit, I’m one of those photographers who tries to stay away from grain in my images. Her style of adding grain to an image to help complete her vision is amazing! I was so inspired after reading this one that I went into my Lightroom program and started to play around with different images that could be improved by adding grain. Such fun! I love that she helps explain exactly which images are a good candidate for adding grain. Not only does she talk about how she uses grain but she really breaks it down so you can figure out why you have grain/noise in your image. I was learning new things left and right! On page 22, the sentence in bold – light bulb moment! I had no idea but it makes complete sense now!! This is definitely one I will be reading again and playing around with!

Editing Methods for Enhancing Mood and Tone-Jennifer Dell

Do you like to read how other photographers edit their images? Me too!! I am always fascinated with the different techniques people use. Jennifer explains how to create a clean, hazy, vintage, and dramatic color edit with your photos. She also breaks down which type of photos would work best with each edit. I love her explanations on page 11 as to what images work best in black and white. It’s true…not every image is meant to be converted to black and white. Jennifer also includes 9 printable cards to break down the different edits for you to have easy access by your computer. And if that wasn’t enough she also included 2 videos where you can watch her start to edit in Lightroom and finish in Photoshop.

iPhoneography-April Nienhuis

Have an iPhone? Yup? Great, this one is for you! I am new to iPhoneography and am slowly learning about different apps and techniques you can use with your iPhone. Honestly, what it can do is amazing! April shares 8 of her favorite photography apps which is fabulous because there are so many out there and it is so overwhelming! She tells you exactly what she likes about them and how to use them. I am especially excited to try the one on page 23. That one sounds like so much fun and I know even my kids would get a kick out of it!! I also love that she takes the time to share where you can get these photos printed on page 31. What is the point of taking all these amazing photos if they just live on your iPhone?

Elements of Design-Courtney Keim

Tracking, kerning, and leading…oh my! If you are anything like me the thought of dealing with design elements hurts your head. That is why I hired a designer to do my site. Many of you probably did too. Even if you did hire someone this is still a MUST read! And if you didn’t hire a designer BUY THIS! Courtney breaks down the different types of design elements like typography, design, and color. She explains how to use these things to enhance your brand and help you stand out above the crowd. There is so much more that goes into a good design than just your logo. This information will help you attract new clients with your professional design!

Developing Prices-Amii Wroblewski

Are you wondering what to charge your clients? Do you want to make a ton of money but don’t know how to break it all down and set your goals? Amii is the pricing goddess! Seriously, I have read a lot about pricing (even though I’m not in business) and this is the first one I have read where I not only understand it, but she gives you formulas to help you figure it all out. Thank you, Amii!! Honestly, after reading this I kind of want to go into business just so I can come up with prices. Ha! The way she breaks down salary vs. wages on page 7 is fantastic and definitely something every photographer should keep in mind when creating their prices.

As you can see there is a ton of information and I could go on and on about all the things I learned. But what fun would that be!

I know your a LR gal. I haven’t bought this Bo session bc I wasn’t sure how much was applicable to LR. For a non PS user is there still plenty of usable info in the sessions that cover editing in LR?
    Thanks for your review.
