I love the playful silhouettes of the people, I can just feel how much fun they are having! In order to remove the distraction of the blown-out sky, I might have either adjusted the sky color in post, or cropped the whole roof out of the photo for a ‘tunnel’ look. LOVE the American flag flying so proudly here.

What a lovely moment and ohhh how I LOVE covered bridges. The entire image is a bit soft making it hard to define your subject. The sky and the top of the bridge are blown out; causing my eye to look at that rather than the beautiful moment happening inside the bridge. You might eliminate this and better define the leading lines and subject by cropping into the image a bit. Indeed, a lovely moment. I’d love to capture a moment like this of my own family.

I agree with the previous comments. I love the elements you included in your composition: the silhouetted family, bridge, your backdrop, the flag =) … lovely job!! In a situation like this, I would have increased my ISO some so that I could have upped my aperture and/ or shutter speed, which would have likely helped with the blown out sky and possibly allowed for some crispness, without loosing the soft feel altogether. You’ve got a REALLY great moment that you captured here, and with a lighting situation like this, it’s often a challenge to nail it all, so great job grabbing the moment!

I love the framing on this image! I agree, it might be stronger with the sides cropped out to just show the barn and give the framing an even stronger impact. I love the flag and the feeling of joy in the image, however, I agree about the crispness of the photo as well. Maybe bump up that ISO? You can get pretty high before grain starts to become a huge problem and you are only at 200 so I wouldn’t worry about noise in this case.

What a fun picture, I love how they seem unaware of the photographer. I would have maybe bumped the ISO up a little to make the picture a little crisper, and maybe brightened it just a tad (personal preference) . I love the flag, so I would leave the crop just like it is. Fun shot!

I really like the picture! It look the family is having a real, genuine and fun time. I would suggest focusing more to create a more crisp look. The sky is a little blown out, but I also like that because it gives it a glowy, winter feel. I like the composure of the photo!

I love the silhouette in photo. I especially like how you were able to capture the excitement and fun of the moment. I think that’s the strength of the photo. As the comments above mentioned the blown sky draws away from the focus of the photo. I would try and either crop it out or try to add recovery (if you use lightroom for post-processing). Otherwise it’s an awesome photo.

Wow! There is so much joy packed into this picture. So much excitement and happiness in the silhouttes and I love the tunnel – draws your eye straight to the happiness at the end of the tunnel. I would suggest cropping the picture more tightly around the barn. Beautiful!
