Photography Templates: 5 Tips on How They Can Boost Your Business
Lifestyle

photography templates to boost your business
If you own a photography business you know that you need to do many things to stand above your competition as well as help your business run smoothly. Pre-made photography templates may be exactly what you need for your photography business.

Using photography templates to improve your business

1. Work smarter, not harder.

I have said this before when it comes to using presets and it is true when using templates. Yes, you can make your own, but why not use pre-made photography templates? Figure out other areas of your business to focus your time on and save yourself the headache. Why re-invent the wheel?

2. Personalize your products for your client.

You want to do everything you can to make a lasting impression on your clients. Client referrals are a fantastic way to grow your business. If your clients purchase their digital images, consider giving them a personalized CD/DVD and case with an image from their session. What a great way to present your products!

3. Up-sell to your clients

Most photographers offer prints of their images, but why not offer them something extra. Maybe they can use the images from their newborn session for birth announcements. Did you do a family session? Email the dad prior to Mother’s Day about using the images from the session to make apersonalized Mother’s Day card. For Valentine’s Day put an offer out to your Facebook fans and blog followers that you are offering personalized Valentine’s Day cards. They can choose an image from their past session and you will create personalized Valentine’s Day cards for them. Using a photography template allows you to insert the images and send off the order. Easy way to stay on your clients’ minds as well as making a little extra money.

4. Create Mini-Session announcements

Offering mini-sessions is a great way to work with past clients who just want a few new images, as well as attracting new clients. Creating all the marketing material for these announcements for your website and social media outlets can be daunting and time consuming. Remember, work smarter, not harder.

5. Offer something FREE

Who doesn’t love free stuff? When a company goes above and beyond and provides you with something free, that is the BEST! Why not surprise your clients with a free Facebook timeline photo with images from their latest session. Not only will your clients LOVE you for the free gift, but in the corner you can insert “Images by….” Talk about great marketing! All your client’s friends will drool over the timeline photo, ask who the photographer was and they will be knocking on your door. Go the extra mile for your clients.

Squijoo offers many more templates than what I have already mentioned such as accordian mini books, collages, album book templates, and iPhone covers (just think of the fun you could have selling those to Seniors).

Not sure how to use templates? Don’t be embarrassed. I remember the first time I tried to use a template in Photoshop Elements I was LOST. I had to contact the designer and ask how to get my photo into it. Stop laughing. Squijoo has tutorials to help walk you through how to use their templates so you can make them exactly what you want.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. I just installed PSE11 and tried using a free template from Squijoo to see if the $5 was worth it, but I can’t get the layers to work. I’m following the tutorial, but can’t get it to work. The picture just stays in the center of the template and when I hit Cntrl+G, the photo disappears instead of merging with the layer I selected. Any tips on what I’m doing wrong?
