  1. Depends a lot on what I’m doing… But more then ever the importance of my tripod (or the knowledge how to improvise a tripod) is making itself known.

Though, when ever I need a pick me up, or just want to shoot for fun my old old manual focus Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 has never failed me. That lens lives on my camera and hasn’t failed me yet – its by far my favourite lens to shoot with. Although, as much as I love this lens and would never fully replace it I’d love to get its equivalent with auto focus (to make it a bit more versatile – manuel focus is hard sometimes!) or the Nikon 35mm f/1.4.

  2. Very interesting. I just took a workshop about the expodisc and I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to purchasing it yet but I think I’d like to get it in the future.

  3. So far I am in love with my 50 mm f/1.8, hoping to upgrade in the future though!

I really want to try the Expodisk, but i can’t figure out what size I’ll need, and do I need a different size for each size of lens I have? I tried to read on the Amazon link you gave, but I guess I’m not understanding which one I need to get? Help! ;)

    • Hey Franny!

I bought an Expodisk to fit my largest lens. I don’t keep it snapped on my lens and just hold it there to set up my white balance so it’s not a big deal that it is bigger than several of my lenses.
