I love the completely real emotion of the girls in this photo! Their giggles are so contagious! I also really like the B&W processing, but I think I would pull down the highlights a bit, so the whites aren’t so overpowering. Also, you might try to get their heads all touching, as it would seem to create a bond between the children. Great job though!

I love the joy you captured! Photos of siblings like this make me giggle. I agree that the highlights should be pulled back a bit. I feel like the hands of the girl on the right lose some detail and look almost blown out compared to the darker grass. It can be a bit distracting.

I also love that you chose to play with the posing of the siblings the way you did. It’s non traditional and makes for a very interesting portrait. :) Great job!

Love the emotion. It’s real, not forced, and seems very pure. That’s a superb quality to have. I Think there’s not enough contrast, agreeing that it seems very washed out. More shadows to define the facial characteristics could be good, but this personal preference. Still love the picture though.

I just love the expression on the faces…it makes me think the boy in the middle did something silly to make the girls laugh. It looks a little blown out coming from the right side of the picture as though the sun was a little bright, the boy’s nose almost disappears. You could try to increase your shutter speed a bit more to help with the blown out faces. I just love the pose of the three kids. This is something I would invision hanging up in a family’s living room!

Love the posing and expressions. The center subject’s whites are blown out and black in the hair is clipped. It draws the eye to his lapel and away from the fantastic expressions they all have. It’s a fantastic capture and evokes happiness.

I absolutely love the expressions, the candid moments and the angle. it is hard to tackle the angle from above! i agree with the above comments, the whites of the faces are very bright and distracting. i love the crispness of the grass, their hair and clothes. beautiful photograph :)

I really like this picture. Very cute and real!! I agree with the other comments though. The black and white processing is really nice and the grass and textures really pop but their faces get lost some. Correct this and it would be a wonderful shot! Great job!

I absolutely love the composition of this photograph. Your use of lines works really nicely. I also love the black and white processing. Some of the highlight and shadow detail is lost, especially in the hair and the faces. But the way you use the children’s hands is fantastic. It really expresses their emotion at the time. Your photo is a wonderful shot of true emotion. Had a look at it on your website and disagree that the highlights are too bright but it also shouldn’t be more :). I like the contrast between the bright faces and the dark grass. What I find a little bit distracting too are the blurred hands of the girl on the right. But I know that’s something always can happen when working with people and especially with children. Perhaps you have to choose a higher shutter speed for shooting kids to freeze the movements :).

anything showing true emotion draws me in far more than a good ole’ standard photography pose, great job! I am personallly a wide open shoooter, but I feel if you closed up a bit you might have caputred the motion of the giggles and hand movement a bit more. Also, having each subject touch in some way may have stregthened the viewers concept of the bond between them. I love that you chose to convert to B&W – to me it lets the raw emotion show thru…however I would have toned down the highlights a bit. Overall, wonderful job, and Im sure whoever you took this photo for will forever be in love with it :)

I love the posing and the expressions on the kids. I like the black and white and I think the conversion is nice. I think I see a little motion blur in the hands on the girl on the right. I wish she didn’t have her hands over her face, but that does add to the spontaneous feel of the photo. I wish we were in on the joke! This looks like a fun family and I think you captured their energy well.

First off, I love love love the expressions on their faces. What did you say to them to get such fantastic emotion? I believe the only thing I may have done different was bump up that shutter speed so the whites in the face are not so bright. I love that their hands are in their faces, it does definetly add to the emotion. I also like the crispness of all their faces and the grass, so I think your aperture was set perfectly. Nice work!

I am such a sucker for b&w!! I love this. I can almost hear the giggles from the girls. I love photos that really show emotion, and this does that very well. While I would have liked to see their heads closer together, almost touching, I love the composition. Like most of the others have already pointed out, their skin tones are a bit bright. It doesnt look bad, but I do think its a bit distracting (especially where the young man’s collar is a bit blown). Despite those few small things, I am thoroughly enjoying this image! I have come back several times in the last few days to take another look! Keep up the good work!

Love the laughter and personality of each individual person in this photo! I would personally like to see this is color. For me the B&W is a little harsh in this instance. Maybe the S.S could have been bumped up just a tad too, so there wouldn’t have been a little bit of blur in the girls on the right side’s hand. Very cute pose!
