I love how perfectly sharp his eyes are, and the catchlights are awesome. The only thing I might change is the composition. I would try applying the rule of thirds to this photo. I also love the beautiful bokeh in this image. Really makes your subject pop!

I love how the wide open aperture gives his skin that nice touch of softness. I also enjoy how his eyes are in perfect focus and the way that the catch lights give them that sparkle. The colors and bokeh are simply beautiful as well. One thing I might have done differently would be to recompose so that the subject isn’t so much in the bullseye. Maybe position him more to camera right? Nice job, and thanks for sharing.

I love the expression you captured on his face…I would have moved his head over in the frame so it is not in the center…lovely bokeh!!!! Great sharp image, very good

This is so beautiful! Love the catch lights, colors, sharpness and Bokeh. I have the same comment as others. May be place the subject to the side instead of center.

What a beautiful little boy! I love how sharp his eyes are, and the background bokeh. Only thing I might change is to pull back a teensy bit so that the top of his head isn’t cut off – it would be a shame not to include such a cool ‘do!

Great picture Chandra! I love the light in his eyes. Maybe the white of his eyes semms a little to blue for me due to the picture temperature?! And what a great blurry background! I looove blurry backgrounds! Thanks for sharing that great picture!

Thanks Y’all! I really appreciate you taking some time to critique me. I’ll definitely take these into consideration next time I snap my lil’ cutie pie. Thanks again.

I love the image. I think the composition works here. I wish he looked straight at the camera. The white balance is off because I see some blue color in his eyes. Beautiful image!

What a cute kid! Love the creamy blurred background. I think that the centered composition would work better if he was looking right at the camera. Following rule of thirds seems to be a safe bet, but I’m a believer in breaking rules! Kudos for the amazing sharpness you were able to achieve even with such a wide aperture and slow shutter speed (slow for me, at least hehe). Awesome job!

    What a great looking kid!
I love how he is looking off to the side and how you focused on his eyes.. Looks like he is thinking of his birthday wish list ;) I would have put him a bit more to the right of the frame to get that “rule of thirds”. I also love the pose. How his arm is off to the left, but he is looking right. Not the straight on look. Oh and I am a HUGE fan of cutting of the tops of heads. I am not sure why, but I love that. Great pictures <3

The bokeh in this image is amazing. I love how his whole face is in focus. I would like to see the crop pulled back a little bit to have the top of his head included and maybe shift his head to the left or right just a touch. I can’t get over how sharp his eyes are! I am also a sucker for the catchlights. They make his eyes look sparkly. :)

I love the sharp, bright eyes! The colors are luminous as well!! Maybe change the camera angle just a bit, so it’s not so flat on and to get that rule of thirds in there. Beautiful shot and great focus!

I think you did a great job here. It’s sharp, the color and exposure looks good. My only critique is related to the “two steps back” rule. I’m not sure if the image here is cropped or not, but bringing yourself back just a bit would have brought a little more of his shoulders and the rest of his head into the image (he’s cropped a little tight at the neck). I do agree with the rule of thirds here, too. Because he is positioned the way he is it would be nice to see him a little to the right. But, all of this is nit picky. You did a great job with this image. I mean, I can see the windows in his eyes! Hello catch-lights!

I love the softness of his skin and the bokeh background! Perfect aperture. I can’t seem to think of anything to critique. I kind of love how center he is, even though most previous commenters might disagree. The picture could maybe be a tad warmer? Otherwise a gorgeous photo! Great focus on his eyes as well.

What a sweet photo! I love the expression on his face. The catchlights in his eyes are great. I would have liked to see you position his head off center, as well as use his hands to add expression. It looks like the background may have been really busy, but you handled that really well by using a wide aperture to focus the eye on his sweet face. Nice job!

Beautiful shot. His eyes are crisp, clear and sharp! I am a find of the centered subject in this shot….until i look at the direction he is looking. if he were looking straight on camera, i would be very pleased with this composition, however with him looking off camera right, i would have liked to see more space on that side. Your bokeh is beautiful. WHat a handsome boy :)

Such a handsome boy. :) Lovely catchlights in his eyes. I would probably have framed him a little farther to the left instead of right in the middle. It’s a great shot, though.

Wow! What an incredible portrait of a handsome guy! Love how sharp his eyes are and the sparkle in them. I would try moving back a few steps so that the top of his head isn’t cut off as it’s a bit distracting! I really love the focus and bokeh! Awesome job!!

I agree with Jenn on this one – I dont mind a bit that the top of his head is cut off! Im looking at those gorgeous eyes with those beautiful catchlights, anyways! I tend to enjoy a good cropped noggin once in a while myself – in a situation like this where, I believe, it adds something to the photo. Love this. I agree with those who mentioned the rule of thirds… I think Id have moved him a hair to the right as well. Also, while I love the beautiful bokeh background and the colors, whatever is in the upper left hand corner pulls my eye away from that sweet face, just a little. I might have tried to clone it out. Just tiny details though – this is a gorgeous shot. Very nice work.
