Instagram November Challenge – #30thankfuldays
Lifestyle

I am a firm believer that if you want to improve your photography skills you have to stop reading tutorial after tutorial and pick up your camera! This is one of the reasons I’m starting a Project 365 tomorrow.

I also believe that you don’t need a fancy camera to capture amazing pictures. Some of the camera phone images I have seen on Instagram are amazing, truly amazing!

Another thing I believe is that it is important to focus on what we are thankful for. I remember years ago, Oprah talking about a gratitude journal. Where you write down what you are grateful each day. I remember doing this in high school and loved it. It is fun to sit back and focus on the small things. The little moments that may pass us by if we don’t stop to really be thankful for them. Maybe it is a cup of coffee your spouse made you in the morning, a hug from your little one, or the kids picking up their toys without being asked. These are all the moments I want to focus on.

I recently read about a photographer who created a book – 365 Gratefuls where she focused on what she was grateful for. She mentions in this interview that she was once told that the key to happiness is being grateful.

30thankfuldays

Kim at SHUTTER|bag and I are teaming up to challenge you to spend the next 30 days focusing on what you thankful for. Post your images on Instagram and use the hashtag #30thankfuldays. There is never a good time to pick up a photography challenge, especially one that encourages you to shoot everyday. However, with the holidays coming, we can so easily lose sight of what is important because we are focusing on so many other things.

Take the time in November to pick up your phone and capture 30 things you are thankful for. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Be sure to follow Kim – Shutterbagusa and myself – Clickitupanotch on Instagram.

The Rules:

– Take a photo everyday of something you are thankful for, post it on Instagram, and use the hashtag #30thankfuldays

It’s that simple!

I hope you will join us in this fun challenge that not only will improve your photography but will help you focus on the wonderful things in your life.

So are you in? Leave a link to your Instagram profile if so. Let’s follow each other.
