I already wrote a letter similar to this one my old blog but forgot to save it before it was shut down.
Dear Little Ones,
You are very blessed to each have two sisters. Two sisters who adore you and want to be your best friend for life. Sisters are special. Sisters will be there for you through thick and thin. Times are going to get tough and you can always count on each other to help you through it.
We are going to move around a lot and it is hard. You are going to leave behind friends and many tears will be shed. But you have your sisters to lean on. They will be you best friend who never gets left behind.
Be kind to each other. Include each other in your games. Don’t play run away from “so-so”. Kate and Emma, Claire is younger and you may not always want to include her but she looks up to you and thinks you are amazing, funny, and the best. Include her.
Don’t stop giggling at night time. We are convinced you think each evening is a slumber party. Always want to share a room. Share everything. Share your toys, your clothes but never your boyfriends. Don’t ever date a boy who dated one of your sisters.
Look out for each other. We protect each other in this family. Don’t be the person who hurts your sisters feelings and defend her if her feelings are hurt. You are each other’s protecters.
Mommy and Daddy won’t always be there. Please continue to be there for each other. Support, love, and care for each other.

What great advice you offer to your girls! I love the photo of all three. They look so different but yet you can see each one has a little bit of the others in her. (Does that even make sense?) beautiful girls!

amazing idea – they will really treasure it. Just curious how you are thinking of putting it all together-will you combine with photos and make a photo book, or do more of an album style by hand? I have 4 kids and want to do as well, but also want to be sure that when they are grown up each can have a copy, so thinking photo book assembled on line might be best, so I can order multiple copies. Also online I might be able to individualize the books as well, but also retain shared elements. But would love to know your thoughts on executing this great project!
Thanks! I think I’m going to have them printed in a Blurb book and give it to them when they turn 12. That way I can print them for each girl. I have toyed with the idea of printing the images in a book and handwriting the letters. I have time to figure it out since my oldest is 6 :) Hope you find an idea that works for you!
Thanks so much for sharing.My kids are 9 and 12, but I started at the first of the year. Better late than never at this point:) DO you share you letters with them now? or are you waiting to surprise them when they are 12?
I haven’t yet. I’m still trying to decide if it is something I will wait to give them as a surprise or let them read along the journey. I’m so glad you are writing letters too!
