I like the interaction between the two and I do like the Black/white.

I love the natural composition of the image. I would have increased the highlights on her face just a little bit to decrease the darkness. It’s a lovely image that captures pure joy which is so hard to capture in children when they pose.

I love the moment between the two you captured beautifully!!! She is such a doll! I think I would like to see this in color though because I personally like black and white to look more dramatic. I would also crop in a bit more to get out the background which I feel may be a bit distracting but that is just my personal preference :D

This is just a fabulous shot! The interaction between the girl and the dog is priceless! I also think black and white is perfect for this shot. The only thing I might change is to pull back a bit to get some more background for context and maybe try to remove some of the objects in the background if they become too distracting then. Love the shot! Great work!

What a great photo filled with so much joy! I can just hear the little girl’s squeals and giggles! I struggle to give you a way to improve the picture at all…*maybe* bring the crop in just a teensy bit? The focus is spot-on, composition is terrific, and the choice of B&W is perfect. Nice work!

I absolutely love the moment you captured, the joy of her expression and a moment that you for sure could not recreate! You can just feel her excitement! I think I would like to see her face brightened a little bit and perhaps the background shadows accentuated. Also perhaps cloning out some of the background clutter as well so that your eyes can stay drawn to your intended object. Even without all of that this picture is just beautiful! Really amazing work!

I loved the picture! It made me smile the moment I saw it…I liked how her hair captured the light from behind. I liked how the picture really captured her size in comparison to the dog. The photographer captured real joy. I think I might have cropped a little more off the top of the picture to take out the top white line of the kennel. Adding a little fill light on the left side to balance the light on the little girls face would be worth a try. Overall, I thought it captured her love of this big dog. What fun!

I also love the raw emotion that the little girl displays while interacting with her dog. I would have liked to see it in color because I feel that it would make the image appear more playful. Overall I think you did a great job, especially nailing the clarity.

I think this turned out so well in black & white because I can feel the essence of the photo; her amazing smile and love for her dog. I do personally enjoy more dramatic b&w images so I would have lightened her face and dog, then darkened the space around. The box behind her is a little distracting but with different edits, think that would diminish my eye. Overall I love the image and the “leading line” of the dogs back to her face. Whether it was intentional or not. Love it!

This picture is adorable! I know from personal experience that it is hard to capture a picture perfectly with young children, but taking the photo from a different angle may have taken out some of the background that are catching my eye.
I was thinking more towards the left so the little girl would be almost looking over her shoulder at you and you could see more of the dogs face? Just an idea. It is tough to critique this photo because it is so adorable!!

Love the emotion coming from the photo and the black & white. Only thing I would change would be to tighten the crop – mostly coming in from the left and from the bottom so your subject fills the bottom left triangle. You’ve captured a beautful moment!!

Oh my goodness look at that face! So adorable – love those cheeks!! Cheers to you for capturing a great and fleeting shot. I also love the way her hair is haloed around her head as well. All I could add is either crop in tighter, or soften/edge blur all the way around them to make that precious moment really pop. This is really frame-worthy!

You definitely captured the moment! Such a sweet shot! I think the composition is good. I think I might have shot at f2.8. It might just be a personal preference but I love to shoot wide open. I think it would help blur the background a little more to decrease the clutter. Which can be a little distracting. You could also clean up the background in post processing too. I love the black and white but I do prefer more dramatic black and whites. I think adding more contrast or cropping it closer so you can see more of the texture and detail would help with that. Overall this is a really cute photo you did a wonderful job at capturing a real moment and her smile is adorable! Great job!!

love the real & true expression exchanged here . I would adjust the light on her face . I would also adjust so the dark shadow/image above her & to the right don’t take my eye away from the moment. I love the sharp grass blades .

My only comment is if possible, blur the background a little more. It’s slightly distracting, especially near her head. Otherwise, this is fabulous! Very good capture!

I love the capture of this moment and I really like the B&W.
My critique is a bit of a complicated one because I love the background from a personal standpoint but not so much from a professional view.
From a personal POV, I find it hard to critique photo’s like these because these are “in the moment” photo’s of our kids and I think these types of photo’s are absolutely perfect in every way including the background of this photo because it’s apart of your life and details in moments such as these are important to have in family photo’s.
However, from a professional POV, the background is distracting. While my eye is focused on that beautiful smile and dimples… my eyes are also drawn to the distracting background.
Either way… great photo and super cute lil’ girl! :)

Love this capture and the expression on her face, she is really enjoying the moment. The conversion to B & W really works well for me too. For me the one thing that I would try to change is the background I find it is a little cluttered, perhaps you could clone out some of the detail when editing. Despite this the image is a great one and really works for me :)

I love the playfulness of this shot and the unexpected size comparison between the little girl and her dog. One improvement for me would have been more zoomed in to create a more balanced picture plane between the background and foreground! Great choice to make it black and white, it further captures its innocence.

B&W is a good choice. It keeps the emphasis upon the relationship. I wonder how it would be to crop in order to give a little more space on the left side of the frame. That might give more space for the energy of the dog’s body to play out in the scene but might also take away from the balance you’ve achieved. Your depth of field is right on. I too can almost hear the squeals.

I just love this! This is a priceless moment and captured genuine happiness. I would have liked to see the color version of this personally. The rule of thirds was followed perfectly and image is sharp.

I love your composition! You got all of the dog and all of the little girl!! Kids move so fast–that’s hard to do sometimes!! I think the grass is more in focus than the little girl, although with a smile like hers I don’t think anyone would mind. I’m sure her mama will be thrilled with this picture!!

I absolutely love the happiness this photo brings. The composition tells a story that every kid would love! One of my favorite edits to do with a photo is to change it to black and white and this photo is perfect for this. Also, props on getting both subjects in focus which means you have a clear understanding about shutter speed and kids!

I love this shot. I’m a big fan of shots that are more candid in nature. I might have tried to lighten up the little girls face a bit. She is a little bit dark compared to the brightness of the dog. The composition is really nice. Also the little girl is just too darn cute!

I adore photos of children and their pets, and the authentic joy on her face is precious! I actually don’t mind the background because the blur pretty much keeps your focus on her and the dog, to me anyway. I’d be curious to see how it turned out in color!

I LOVE black and whites and this image certainly makes ones heart happy! I would personally zoom out a bit positioning the subjects in the bottom left side and using the diagonal line of the child and dog to 1/3 the picture. Beautiful shot! Happiness exudes from this moment you captured.

I love the pure joy this photo captures! I think I may have tried a light vignette to bring the focus more in to the subjects, but otherwise, I think it’s just absolutely precious! :)

The expression on her face is lovely and I love all the detail you got on the dog. I would however have considered using a reflector to bounce the light onto her face or used a beauty brush in light room to lighten up her face. The interaction between the two is beautiful and it is a lovely shot!!

Great photo! Great expression on the little girls’ face with her small hands on the LARGE dog. Nice diagonal from the dog creating a triangle with the girl. Things to improve (I see we must include these), possibly lighten her face a little in post processing (assuming there wasn’t enough time when the photo was taken), take down the highlights on the dogs bag & blur out the background. But those things are trivial compared to the GREAT PHOTO!
