I love a good gallery wall. I love all the asymmetrical displays I see gracing the pins on my Pinterest feed. I even tried a few configurations in my home….but they just felt wrong to me. I am such a huge fan of symmetry. It makes me heart sing.
My pride and joy is this wall here at the top of our stairs! I have to give all the credit to my husband for executing my vision so perfectly! He has the patience of a Saint!
I have this quirky little hallway that I felt needed some photos. I had the thermostat and light switch to contend with, so I used frames of the same size, but one is vertical and one is horizontal. It’s not literal symmetry, but it feels very balanced.
I love peeking into homes to see how other display their photos, so I hope you’ve enjoyed a little sneak peek into mine.

Symmetry for me, too! I hung a group of white frames in alternating rows of horizontal and vertical, and I love it! All it took was a measuring tape, some math skills, a plumb line, two hours, and some monkey-like children to balance on the furniture. :-)
How did you get the pictures to line up so perfectly in a grid? I’ve got 12 8×10 frames with pictures in them, just waiting to build up the courage to put them on the wall…
We traced the frames (cut out of a paper grocery bag) and then taped them up on the wall until we got the layout we wanted. I should have taken a photo of that–sorry!
Oh – and I have to ask, do you find yourself rotating pictures in the frames, or do you leave them in there?
Dave! I’ll be honest—my INTENTION was to rotate them often…but that hasn’t happened! Haha! This has been good inspiration to get some new prints and switch them out!
Love this, Brennan! Thank you for sharing. Do you mind telling us the print size and frame size you used to achieve this?
So glad you liked it! I used Ribba frames from Ikea and these are 8×10 prints!
Thanks for another great post Brennan! I love your work and now I am happy to see how you display your images! Would you mind sharing where you purchase your frames?
I would also love to know where you got the frames!
They are IKEA Ribba frames—super cheap!!
I have that same vision for a wall in the house we are building. Same frame, same size, very organized and clean looking to display my favorite photos. Thanks for sharing this!
I love this article! At the present time long standing kids favourite characters like Winnie the particular Pooh bedding, Scooby Doo bedding, Batman bedding, Disney Princess or queen bedding and Spiderman dominate the market of kids bedding. This is probably because of these internationally renowned themes being a safe bet involving selling, which on this current economic system is precisely what manufactures as well as retailers alike would like. 12 months roughly ago relatively new characters such as Ben 10 bed linens and Senior high school Musical bedding were given an opportunity to shine. This particular turned out to be an enormous success and so they were definitely a risk that paid off. Items for the themes of children bedding included cover covers, draperies, valance bedding, coverlets, rugs and lots of other items that meant kids could have their full bedroom decorated in those themes. These were manufactured on the grand scale therefore prices were fairly low so mothers and fathers were happy, kids had been happy and suppliers were satisfied. A dream combination!
