This is such a beautifully composed and lit photo. I had a hard time finding anything to critique, but maybe the eyes could be a little sharper? The baby is adorable, and I love the perspective. Great shot.

Gah! I just love this pic! So adorable and it really looks great. I have a hard time finding anything “wrong” with it, but if I were going to change anything I might try reflecting some light from behind to give a bit of a hairlight to separate the back of the left side of his head from the floor. But I know that would be difficult with a moving child :-) I think it’s a great photo.

I love the vantage point in this photo. I don’t think I would do anything differently. This would look good in black and white too.

I love the lighting with a little bit of shadow on the face, the catchlights, the expression, and the perspective. I think I would like a little separation of the baby’s head from the darkness but that is just being really picky. It’s hard to tell on my phone if the eyes are sharp but if they are not it probably due to the noise/grain level and the open aperture maybe even the low shutter speed. I can’t let my shutter speed go below 250 because I have shaky hands. This belongs on a canvas or at least printed and framed! I love everything about it! The baby’s expression makes you smile! Thanks for sharing! :)

I don’t think there is much to critique here! The composition is great, I’m not getting distracted by anything, the exposure and white balance are both great also! If I had to pick something, I would wish for it to be sharper in the face/eye area. It just looks very soft to me. but really, that’s it. I love the contrast and the use of available light to give it more depth! Good job!

Love the depth of field. Great catchlights in the eyes. Great perspective. It’s a great photo. The only thing that might make it even more fabulous would be to remove the green in the diaper.

Nice perspective. I would use a reflector to help highlight the shadows they are a bit dark. Overall good shot of a handsome little man.

It is a lovely photo, great shot. I would probably crop in that left hand side & remove some of the floor, just to bring that beautiful face closer into shot & bring out those lovely eyes & smile. That is just me though & for framing purposes I know you can’t crop too tight. X

This is absolutely adorable! I love the expression on baby’s face, the perspective and the cute pose. I don’t mind the darkness in the background at all. If I were to nit pick anything, I would say tone down the highlights on baby’s shoulder and arm just a touch, if possible — that area just looks really white to me. Overall this is so adorable. I would be thrilled with this shot it I had taken it, and I’m sure the parents love it too!!

This is a lovely shot. I like the composition and perspective. The dark shadows and dead space help frame your subject. I wouldn’t change much and this is really nit-picking but it would be nice to have his eyes and face sharper and the image a tad warmer (that could be my phone). Love his happy expression that you captured and the catch light in his eyes.

I love this picture. I really had to try hard to find something to critique because I love it so much. The only thing I’d say is the diaper is a tad distracting and I mean tad. I love the way the picture draws me right to the child’s face. I wish I had enough talent to get a shot like this.

This photo is precious! I love how the green in the diaper and the whiteish catch lights in the eyes add a pop of color. The dark side of his face looks a bit strange to me, it may just be because my eyes are drawn to it. But otherwise, everything about this picture is perfect! Great dramatic lighting!

Lovely pic. The brightness of the face and the sense of fun draws you in. I find the strong illumination all down the left hand side of his body distracts from his face: his nappy is brighter than his face so, as this was a brilliantly caught moment with lovely side lighting, I might have taken this area down a bit in post. But the twinkly face saying “yeah, look at me”, and the quick falloff into bokeh is really lovely :)

Love this photo! Great lighting, great perspective! The only thing I would change is to pull back just a bit more to show more floor around the edges – just so there’s room for framing. Sweet baby – love that smile!

I think this photo is gorgeous. I wouldn’t change anything…. if i wanted to be nit picky perhaps change the green diaper to white. I love the post processing and the bowl the baby is standing in

Wow, I honestly can’t think of anything I would change about this photo! I love the matte, it’s fantastic lighting and beautiful catchlights in the baby’s eyes. I just saw what the previous poster said about changing the diaper to all white and I agree with that, but that’s only because I’m trying to find something to change! Great job, I love your style!

Love how you caught the right expression for this picture. If I were to change anything it would be the lighting to the shoulder area, just a slight turn. Children are hard to capture, so i think you did a good job and the picture is so sweet.

Oh my goodness, this is the most adorable photo! If I would change anything (if this were a perfect world), I would have adjusted the light a bit just so half of the baby’s face wasn’t in shadow. But since this was probably a quick capture, that’s just an insignificant detail. Love how you captured how happy this baby is and I love the setting (playing inside the tub).

I have no tips. I love this image. Well done.

What a fabulous photo! Like others have said before, it’s hard to find anything “wrong” with it. A reflector would help bounce more light onto your subject, allowing you to decrease the ISO and perhaps get rid of some of the grainy blur, this could help make the eyes sharper. I LOVE the angle and the composition, though.

    Hi I’m a beginner but I will try ha-ha

I really like this photo, it’s amazing and I can’t really see much wrong with this at all,
I like the black and white, good lightening, the focus it on the baby’s eyes, the baby’s expression is good it’s makes you smile.
The only thing I can see which could be changed, this is really hard, is that the baby’s head isn’t lifting up from the background it blends in, I can’t offer you advice as I’m still learning :)

First, I love this photo, it was very hard for me to come up with a critique! I love the smiley face, the composition and the edit! The only thing I could come up with was diaper, I would have preferred diaper less to see a peek of cute baby toosh, if that’s not something comfortable for the photographer, I would have done plain white/cream cloth diaper. But seriously, it’s just a beautiful picture! Love it!

This is such a beautifully lit photo. I love the image. If I had to critique anything though, I may have pulled out from the baby just a little bit more and backlit the image as well to create some separation from the babies head and the floor. But again, that’s if I’m being super duper picky. It’s a lovely image and the baby’s eyes are so sharp and beautiful!
