Who doesn’t have a ton of things that we day dream about purchasing related to our obsession with photography? The contributors and I have put together a list of items that are on our photography wish list.

Laurie’s wish list

Lensbaby The Composer
Honestly, I think this would just be fun to have! I’ve seen some really beautiful images taken with a lensbaby that are just dreamy. This lens Sometimes I just want to play with my camera and have fun! This would be an amazing lens for that purpose.

Nikon 20mm f/2.8D
I would really love a wider lens! On vacations, I have found that I really need something wider than the lenses that usually live on my camera in order to get a big gigantic view of the scenery. Also, a wide angle lens is great for storytelling images of the kids and make it easier to capture more of their environment. I do have a zoom that is 28mm on the wide end, but I love primes! So, I would really like to own a wide angle prime lens.

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S
Okay, this one has a hefty price tag. I’m sure I will be wanting it for some time! My children are at the ages where sports are coming into play and I think having that extra little reach with the 200mm would be awesome! And the compression and creamy bokeh with this lens is a-mazing! It would be fun intimidating people with this lens too! :)

Melissa’s wish list

Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L
I’ve wanted to get my hands on this lens for a long time. I love having ultra wide-angle lens. They are so much fun and I love how much you can get in the frame. We’re headed to the beach next month and this baby will be rented for the excursion since I haven’t saved up enough yet to make it my own!

ExpoImaging ExpoDisc
White balance is my enemy. Kelvin does not work well for my camera so I’ve wanted something to help out. I’ve seen so many comparisons with this little guy and I want it so bad.

15″ MacBook Pro
Oh to be able to edit on the go. I would love to be able to sit in the living room with the family and edit photos or upload my shots straight to a computer on vacation. I’ve had this computer on my wish list for a long while now and since our old laptop died this month, I have my fingers crossed this baby will be mine!

Kelly’s wish list

Nikon 35mm f/1.4G
I have heard WONDERFUL things about this lens. It’s the perfect lens/focal length for lifestyle photographers in my opinion. I LOVE wide angle but just wish I had one with a lower f-stop than my 24-70 2.8.

Panasonic Lumix TS20 16.1 MP TOUGH Waterproof Digital Camera
My son is learning how to swim & I am dying to capture that right there underwater with him! I am definitely going to get my hands on one of these soon!

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G
I am in love with wide angle lenses. This lens is REALLY wide. I’d have so much fun with it.

Jen’s wish list

Lexar 24-IN1 Card Reader
This card reader is supposed to download your photos at lightning speed and can copy files from one card to another. I like that it reads 24 memory card formats so you can put your friend’s memory cards in there, no matter what camera they have, and share files easily. I would use this on vacations when we travel with friends/family and everyone wants copies of each other’s photos. It would be nice to download everyone’s photos to my laptop, then copy them to discs for everyone to take home with them.

Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM Ultra-Wide Zoom Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras
I have always wanted a fisheye lens for creative circular effects when capturing interiors, wedding locations, landscapes, and even portraits. This lens provides a full 180 degree angle of view on a full-frame sensor, with the ability to do true circular images. Fun stuff! I mainly want this lens to add some unique/creative shots for weddings. I borrowed a friend’s 15mm lens for a wedding one time and took this photo with it. I loved that I could get fairly close to the bride and groom and still get the entire temple in the background.

Canon G12 10 MP Digital Camera
There are times, especially when traveling or attending events that I don’t want to lug around my heavy dslr camera and lenses but still want to take good pictures. This camera is considered a point and shoot, but with the capabilities to shoot in raw format and manually. It has a hot shoe in case you want to use an external flash, plus it has a 5x zoom lens (28-140mm) that is supposed to be super sharp (with Image Stabilization), comparable to many Canon pro lenses. It’s also known to be incredible in low light, even when using a high ISO.

Courtney’s wish list

Nikon 135mm f/2.0
I dream about this lens! Ever since I saw some images by this lens about a year ago it has always been in the back of my mind. However, I recently saw some images on Lacey Meyer’s Photography blog that were taken with her new 135mm and I feel even more in love. Now, how to sweet talk Ian into yet another lens??

Adobe Photoshop CS6
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Lightroom 3! I couldn’t live without Lightroom but I have always wanted to learn about Photoshop. Ian actually said I could get it in the near future. I can’t wait to learn more about it and share what I figure out with you guys.

RS-W1 Camera Strap For Women.
I have heard great things about this camera strap. I love the way it lays a little longer on your body then the factory strap your camera comes with. Plus, it is made specifically for women. You can’t beat that!!

To Melissa, a pro photographer told me to use a Melita coffee filter in front of my lens then take a picture and do a custom white balance! Here is a tutorial http://www.flickr.com/groups/diyphotography/discuss/72157603805698706/

Melissa, check out QVC for the Mac Pro. It’s slightly more expensive but you get Easy Pay as an option. Worth a look, I think :)
