Shots for Jen
Lifestyle

Last week the photography world lost a beautiful soul, Jen Thompson. I didn’t know her personally but she had a big affect on the photography community, you can read more about her story, Am I Still a Girl. Plus, she was a mother of 2 small boys and aren’t we as moms all connected. Clickin’ Moms is honoring her by encouraging moms to get in the photo with their kids. You can see a lot of their photos on the CMPro Daily called Shots for Jen. We wanted to honor her as well so we all hopped in front of the camera.

I am not great with words which is why I tell my story though pictures but we wanted to help honor her memory. I encourage you to heed Jen’s advice and get in the photo with your kids. Life is precious and they want to see you in photos.

Because Jen is a hero.

Beautiful! I find it, although incredibly sad, how wonderful it is that the entire photography community is banding together and being inspired by this. We can be a change in the world, we can raise awareness of this.

This is a beautiful tribute and I think so important. It is important for us moms to get in front of the camera with our kids. I know its not as comfortable as our comfort zone is usually to hide behind the lens, but it is so important for our kids. I’ve come across two moms this week during photo shoots that don’t want in the photos, but I’ve been able to share this story with them. Thanks for sharing.

This story makes me profoundly sad. None of us own tomorrow. I am making an effort to be in photos more.

How on earth are these so sharp? What lens were you using? The photo with the kids on the grass is superb

      Hey Stephen!

      The first image (Kelly) was shot with a 35mm 1.4, second image (Jen) 85mm, 3rd image (Laurie) 50mm 1.4D, 4th image (Melissa) 50mm 1.4G, 5th image (mine) 50mm 1.4D.

      Thanks!! Hope that helps!
