Lifestyle

7 years ago today, I told Ian in front of all our family and friends that I would love him for the rest of my life. He made a speech during our reception telling me that he would not only tell me he loved me but would show me everyday for the rest of my life. He has done just that! We have had an amazing 7 years! Here are a few interesting numbers for you:
2 – Amazing Daughters
2 – Wild and crazy dogs
4 – States we’ve lived in
2 – Countries we’ve lived in
6 – Deployments
1 – House we owned and Sold
3 – Houses

One of my favorite things to know about a couple is how they met. Since it’s our anniversary I thought I would share that interesting story with you.

Ian and I first met when we were in 8th grade (don’t worry it isn’t one of those cute high school sweet heart stories) He was that boy in school that you used his first and last name when you talked about him because he was that cute. I had the biggest crush on him but never said anything about it.

We actually went on our first dates together but not with each other. (I’ll see if I can find that picture) He went with my best friend and I was with my high school boyfriend. My dad got a new assignment my Sophomore year of high school that so that summer we moved from IL to AR. All my friends at my new all girls high school heard stories about all the cute boys at my old school including Ian. I was always joking around about how I was going to marry him. Keep in mind we probably spoken 10 times to each other up to this point.

I went to college in NC and he went to college in CO. He happened to have a friend we also went to high school with who got a hold of my email. He mentioned it to Ian, who asked if he could email me. So, one day during my freshman year of college I receive an email out of the blue from Ian. I almost peed my pants! I ran upstairs to one of my girlfriends proclaiming that Ian emailed me and “I was going to marry him”. Some may say I was boarder line stalking him because I just happened to have a picture of him up in my dorm room prior to the email (Didn’t I mention how good looking he is??) We exchanged emails and phone calls and we would see each other during the summers.

It took Ian a little while to come around and realize he wanted a long distance relationship but luckily for him, I’m a patient woman! Junior year of college we decided to make it official and Senior year he asked me to be his wife. About a year after graduation we were married!!

I am so blessed to have such an amazing man to call my husband! I praise God daily for choosing Ian for me!! He sure did know what he was doing!! I can’t imagine my life without him!! Happy Anniversary babe! I love you!!

Happy anniversary! I love hearing stories of how couples met. My hubby and I met in college but our relationship was mostly long distance up until our 1st wedding anniversary when we were finally able to live together. I think that was helpful for learning to communicate well, which means this military life is a *bit* easier.

Happy Anniversary! You asked for advise…doesn’t sound like you need it. My advise it to treat your spouse better than anyone else. i have seen strangers treat people better than than person promising to love and respect them. My goal is to treat my husband better than anyone else..happily married 31 years!
