Happy Mother’s Day!
I realize not everyone who reads my site is a mother but I know a lot of you are. I hope you are spoiled today and feel as appreciated as you should be.
You have an important job.
You have a thankless job.
You have a job where the children you are raising won’t appreciate all your hard work as much as they do once they have their own children. Being a parent is tough work but it is a job that God has entrusted you with.
You get to raise these amazing, spunky, stubborn, kind, respective, independent little people. They adore you and think you are the BEST.
Your children love you “too” much as my little one tells me. They love you to the moon and back but often times don’t have the words to tell you that.
Staying home with my girls has been the most rewarding and challenging job. It’s hard to not have a job where you get recognition for your work. It’s hard to have a job that you won’t know if you are doing a good job until they are 18 and moved out. But you know what, you ARE doing a good job.
I want you to give yourself a gift for Mother’s day.
Get in the photo with your kids. Your kids don’t care how you look. You don’t even need to set up your tripod. Use what you have.
Just GET IN THE PHOTO!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day! Beautiful photo. I just spent half an hour trying to convince my daughter to take a photo with me and then another 15 minutes trying to get a decent one. I ended up with a lot of photos of me holding a squirmy, uncooperative, four year old with a smirk on her face. Oh well. I tried.
Hope you have a very happy mother’s day!
Sorry it was such a challenge but I’m SO happy you were able to get a photo even if it is with a squirmy, uncooperative, 4 year old ;)
So
So true Courtney!! Thanks for the reminder. I’m never in the shots :-( Happy Mothers Day!
Hope you were able to get in one!
Hi Courtney — Happy Mother’s Day! Your girls have gotten so big lately! Thanks for the push — I got my sisters and mother together for a photo after reading this, and I’m so glad I did!
Thanks! So glad you were able to get in a photo with your sisters and mom! yay!
This is such a great post. Since i am overweight I very rarely allow photos of myself, but looking back I have realized how few photos I have of me with my mother. So my goal is one photo a month with my daughter. I had a friend take one on Mother’s Day, my hair is blowing in the wide, my sleeve wasn’t all the way down on the left side, but my daughter is squeezing me with all her strength and so I love it. :-)
that’s supposed to say wind….blowing in the wind. LOL.
I’m so happy you got in a photo :) I love the challenge of a photo a month with your daughter! That is fantastic!
Hi Courtney,
I spoke with my husband before we even left the house on Sunday and let him know that I really wanted to be IN a photo with our girls, and both of our moms. Success, thanks to my sweet husband!
Wonderful!! That is fantastic! So happy to hear you were able to get in the photo!
