I think capturing water drops can lead to such fun and interesting photos. I found this amazing lesson on how to capture those water droplets by Jill at Forever’n Ever’n Always Photography. She has wonderful photos with all her settings as well as pull backs of what her set up looked like. She makes it look so easy however, I think it is probably a bit harder than it looks. Be sure to check it out! I know I can’t wait to try this out!!
Drip Drop Tutorial
Here’s a teaser of one of Jill’s beautiful photos for you :O)
Beautiful! I love the colorings in this.
I love this!
Thank you so much for the kind words and wanting to share this tutorial! I look forward to seeing what others come up with. And you are right – it is NOT as easy as it looks!
I have all of my macro water drop shots up on flickr – they were challenging and yet fun to capture!
Now I’m having fun catching the water falling off the roof as the snow is melting. Did you hear that??? The snow IS melting!!!! Spring is almost here!
I’ve been meaning to do this forever! One of these days!! :)

It is not as easy as it looks!! I have been hesitant to try it again, but I will venture there eventually.
Jill’s tutorial is excellent….though!!
I just love all the things I’m learning from your website!
Here is a Stylish Blogger award for you!

wow, this was HARD! I tried all 3 of my lens (with the 70-300 being the best). But I still didn’t capture what I wanted. I did it with/without flash, manual focused, and everything but i think my main problem was I couldn’t get my faucet to slow enough for nice water droplets. It was either a slooooow stream or nothing. UGH! I’ll have to try again another day when I’m not so frustrated. hah
i love that photo and it isnt as easy as it looks –
thanks for sharing the tutorial – that’s why i love your blog!!
