Thank you to Tara at Tugboat Photography for this image!
Settings: ISO 200, SS 1/80, f/3.2
Love the setting, the pose, the feeling.. I’d lighten it up a bit. All in all, great shot.
I love the pose–the tree and eye contact are great! Also love all the green. It looks a little dark to me, I would probably brighten it. Nice shot though, the family will love it!
The composition is awesome. I would also lighten it up a bit. Love how you captured the moment and expression of the couple. Great job.
Love this! The posing is awesome, the expressions are so sweet. All I would do is lighten the photo up. Other than that, it’s beautiful!
I absolutely love the composition and setting/mood of this photo! The only thing I would have done differently is to use a smaller dof so the background isn’t quite so distracting.
I love the picture but agree with everyone else that it could be a little lighter. The setting and background are really beautiful!! Nice job!!
Great work Tara. I love the composition and the intimacy of the couple. I’m going to agree with lightening it up.
The moment you captured in this photo is lovely. The lines created by the tree and the subjects really anchor the photo and I love how they are looking into each other’s eyes. I like the mood created by the color of the greens and the light coming through the trees. For me, the subjects are a tad too dark. Possibly using an adjustment brush in Lightroom or layer masks in Photoshop to brighten them up would bring the photo to the next level. I am sure this was a fun shoot and the family will have a great picture to remember this time waiting for their little one to arrive. Thank you for sharing!
What a great pose, and good composition. I also love how the light matches the magical feeling of this shot. My only suggestion definitely comes out of my bias for close-ups and portraits :) In this photo I like the pose, but I’m curious about the magic happening in the eyes/faces of your subjects. It seems like a super close shot would be good to accompany this pose in a portfolio/frame/collage to capture that magic. Or, you could rotate your position shooting the above shot to capture the mom-to-be’s expression…her face is tilted away from the camera a little too much in my opinion. Hope that made sense :) In any case, great shot! I bet this will be something the family treasures.
Honestly this shot is really perfect and hardly needs to be adjusted but, simply based on my preference I would lighten the shot as that is my style. I think this shot is fantastic!
You captured such a wonderful connection between the couple! You can feel their love for each other! The way they are positioned feels very natural and casual. Great job! Love how you used the tree as a nice prop. The image looks a little under exposed. I would bump up the exposure just a smidge and maybe add some fill light to lighten those shadows. Her forehead, neck, and his hand look like they are in the sun and a little over exposed. I would use the adjustment brush to burn those a little to bring back some details. I wish her head was turned a little more toward the camera or straight up and down so we can see her profile or at least her eye. However, this is clearly how she looks lovely at her husband :O) I like the placement of her hand on her stomach to help draw attention to the maternity aspect of this image. I would have asked him to relax his hand a hand on his leg a little so all of his fingers were showing. It looks like the tips of his fingers are missing. You found a beautiful location! So jealous! Great job finding some open shade to use on a clearly bright day! Thanks for sharing!
