I love the idea of blowing glitter off of the hand! Definitely something I want to try! My suggestion is that you either focus on her eyes, or on the hand. If you focused on the hand, I would back up a bit and maybe get a teeny bit lower. Very dramatic shot, and I love the bokeh from the glitter!

I love the colors in this photo and like Amy I agree that blowing glitter off the hand was a neat idea! I think the crop is a little too tight and would have moved back some. I would have liked to see more of the woman’s head/ hair and perhaps a little more of her body. I also think I would have had more of the photo in focus and sharp. Overall, cool concept and great colors!

I like the fairy coloring – her eye makeup, lipstick, nail polish – and how it matches her eyes. The photo seems a little too bright overall, on her hand in particular, the glitter shows up some, but if it was a bit darker it would be more visible (there is nice bokeh on the glitter). Also, I think you should pull back from the subject more, to include more of her hand. Nice work, this photo tells an engaging story!

I love the colors, the glitter, and the composition. The lighting is a little bright in some spots like the hand. I would suggest giving more distance between the camera and the subject and zoom in to fill the frame as you have done. I really like how you filled the frame with your subject for a great close-up! Also might changing your f-stop to f/8-f/11 to try to get more in focus if possible depending on how much light is available. This is such a fun, magical photo!

Great colors and interesting subject! I was disappointed that the eyes weren’t in focus. The overall composition feels really tight too with the woman’s head not centered and the eye distracted with the head piece. I think if you stepped back a few feet and focused on the eyes with an aperture around f/11 you would have achieved a sharp image with great color capture and detail. Great idea with the glitter!

Hello, I really love the colors and the glitter. It’s very clever and creative.
I would focus on the eyes better to make a even bigger impact.
Besides that the shot looks fabulous!

I LOVE the colors! They are very complimentary! I agree, the crop is a little too tight. And while I love the colors, they seem to be distracting at the same time. I am not sure where to look. The exposure and lighting are excellent. And I do like how her dark hair frames the lightness of her face. Also, the position of her eye in the uppermost third of the frame makes this a well composed shot. Overall, I like the shot and think you did a great job.

What a magical shot Jordan! The vibrant colors of the makeup, the artistry of her eyes and the glitter all combine to give a sense of awe and fantasy to this photograph. The detail of her eyes and eye makeup really draws me in. The eyes do seem a bit out of focus though. I would love to see sharp focus on the eyes with a lower aperture number and by putting the focus point there. I would also pull back just a tad bit to have more of her arm and hand in the frame as it took me a minute to figure out what they were. I love the bokeh of the glitter and how this photo really spoke to me and inspired me. I would love to give something like this a try one day :). Thank you for sharing your photo and letting us learn and grow with you!

I really like the styling, the vibrant colors and the action of this shot. The model has a fairy like vibe, and blowing the glitter makes it look like pixie dust. I like the way that the the blue eyelashes and blue lipstick enhance the models blue eyes. I also like the story that your photo tells. I agree that the crop is a little tight. Her eyelids and lashes are in sharper focus than her irises are, which is a little distracting. I also would have included a little more of her hair and more of her hairpiece. Backing up a little also helps with focusing on the eyes since sometimes it is a little trickier to focus on a particular spot in an image like this one with a lot going on when the lens is close to its minimum focusing distance.
Nice photo, and thanks for sharing!

The blue of the makeup, complemented y the green on the left is wonderful. I love clean color.

I have to say that I had no idea that she was blowing glitter until I read the comments. The first thing that stood out to me was that the eyes were really soft. I sooo wanted to see that amazing makeup nice and crisp. As has already been suggested, back up a foot or two to include more of your subject, and definitely go with a higher aperture. The lowere one here ended up being a distraction (but onl because there was too much going on.)

One was to remedy that would be to keep that same aperture but focus only on the eyes. Or, conversely, focus only on the glitter (which, IMHO< would be a lot more difficult.

Overall, a very intriguing photo. Love the creativity of it.

I enjoy looking at this photograph. Very unique with the glitter. It makes the lady look like a fairy queen rather than a Vegas dancer. The only thing I would like to see would be a series of photos. Like starting with her stepping out of a fairyland-esque house, then a shot or two of her making poses like the ones I’m seeing in my mind, and ending with the shot you have of her blowing the glitter out of her hand. I think this photo is exactly what it’s supposed to be. You have left us wanting to see more.

I love the concept, the lashes and the glitter! I would have pulled back just a tad and focused on just the eyes,or just the hand. I love the bokeh the glitter makes, great idea!!! Great job!!

The picture really is very captivating. The blue terno it portrays does match the ambiance of the said background. Blue and glittery blue, just perfect caption of the picture took my eye into it.

I rarely create remarks, however I looked at a few of the comments on this

Up a Notch. I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you do not mind.
Is it just me or does it look like some of these remarks come across as if they are written by
brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are writing on other places, I’d like to follow everything fresh you have to post. Would you make a list of all of your shared pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
