I really like the lighting in this photo. I would like to see it with his eyes in focus rather than the gloves, but I do enjoy seeing the snow in focus as well. Great photo! :)
This is such a creative image! One thing I would change would be to open up the aperture a bit so the eyes would also be in focus or if you really want the glove to be the focus I would do a tighter crop on it. I also think the colors are great and she did a great job with white balance.
I love the contrast in this picture of the orange coat, black gloves and white snow. I would also love to see the eyes in focus. His eyes are such a beautiful color. I can totally imagine him blowing a kiss or eating snow. Great capture!
Wonderful shot. I really love the color that his jacket brings into the image. I wish his eyes were more in focus, either by closing down the aperture or toggling the focus point over his eyes. I do love the way that you can see the snow flakes on his glove though, nicely done.
I like this alot. Great color and contrast against the snow. I would have gone for the blowing the snow dust pic, though. It feels like that is about to happen with this image and I keep wanting to see that more than this. Still, it is a really great image.
I love the colours in your image i think you did a great job with the white balance and compensating for the bright white snow. To my eyes the image feels a little static though. I wish there was a little more action in your image, it feels like the blowing snow and wonderful moment just happened or is just about to. I love that you caught him leaning into the camera though, that really pulls me into the picture.
Wonderful…I love how you captured the fun he is having in the snow. The face is too soft for me…I would rather see the eyes tack sharp than the snow…then maybe a little eye brightening post process. Love the rosy cheeks!
Thanks for the suggestions everyone and wonderful compliments! This is my son Grayson and our first time in the snow this year. I would love to capture a photo of him blowing the snow and asked him to throw the snow in the air for me..unfortunately he took that as throw the snow at mamma’s camera! Haha So we went with a different approach! Thanks again everyone..I truly appreciate the comments and suggestions!
Oh I love the picture, adorable boy great shot. I’m definitely an amateur but I always go for the eyes. Love the hat coat and little hand
This is such a fun shot! Like others have said, I would have closed the aperture or backed up from him to get the eyes in focus as well as the glove. Also, maybe you could have turned him around so the light reflected in his eyes more, although it was probably overcast on a snowy day which would make that more difficult! The colors and white balance are great!
The subject is perfect. Of course, it’s my grandson so…
This image brilliantly captures the essence of kids in winter! In addition to the previous suggestions of focusing on his eyes instead of the snow, I’ll also add that I would have liked to see this composed with the rule of thirds – perhaps with more barren snow to one side or a sled in the background. That being said, the tight centered crop really draws attention to the snow on his gloves, and you nailed that focus perfectly!
I like the photo! The little guy looks cute and like he is having fun. I would have focused more on his eyes or like his eyes and the tips of his gloves. I like where the snow is placed on his gloves and hat. It brings back memories of snow days!
You exposure is so awesome! Great lighting on the face. I do think the pure white back ground kinda takes away a little but it’s still an awesome photos with such a cute little subject :) great shot!!
