I Learned 4-7-11
Lifestyle

I learned a lot over the past two weeks. First, I learned that I have some of the most amazing readers!! I’m so happy that so many of you decided to link up with our Quarterly Top 5!!! I can’t wait to see what you guys have in store for us next quarter! Second, I learned sometimes it isn’t worth the fight to get Kate to wear normal clothes to the park. Third, I learned that when I’m in a photography funk like now it’s good to switch lens. I took the following picture with my 50mm 1.8. I love that lens!!

P.S. As I was posting this on Facebook I learned I’m 5 “likes” away from 200! Thank you everyone who has liked me :O)

Feel free to share anything you learned over the past two weeks since we didn’t link up last week!!

Now it’s your turn. What did you learn this week?? You know the old saying “You learn something new everyday!” Take pictures of it and share with us!! Some weeks you may learn a photography skill and want critiques. GREAT!! Share and ask for them! If you didn’t learn a new photography skill but something about yourself or life, that is great too! Post a picture and tell us what you learned. Can’t wait to see your pictures and find out what you learned!!

As always
1. Post one photo and tell us what you learned.
2. Link your permalink, not your blog address, check out the I Learned Tab if you need help with this.
3. Attach our button to your post
4. Ask for critiques if you want them and post your settings
5. Leave a comment on 5 other posts
6. Open Thursday 8am – Sunday 8am (Japan time) or Wednesday 6pm – Saturday 6pm (EST)

What a cute shot! I agree, sometimes you’ve gotta let their current idea of style be seen.

I wish I had a good lens to switch to and from! I love the 50 but i’m so bored with it. ;) And my kit lens and 70-300 just don’t inspire me much. hehe

  • This week I learned that there’s a bigger audience out there than I realized. I wrote a guest post for Photography 101 and it received terrific feedback. I’m looking forward to doing more. There are so many photography lovers out there who bought a DSLR and have no idea how to use it, but there are just as many people out there who are willing to help. What a fantastic photography community we have. I love it!

I didn’t even know you were on Facebook, so I just found you and liked you lol. I believe you are at 207 now. :) I just got my first dslr this winter (Nikon D3100), and your blog has helped me tremendously! Except now I am wanting to go buy a new lens, which isn’t exactly helpful since I can’t afford one right now lol. :)

This week … I learned that I CAN switch to the M mode on my camera. But I should still let my camera focus… ;) I also found your site … and learned that what “bokeh” is and why I have had a hard time achieving it with my “kit” lens. I’ve got my new Canon 50mm f/1.8 coming in the mail. I can’t WAIT!!
