I am still shocked at how far my blog has come over the past year and a half! When I started this I don’t think I could have imagined I would be where I am today! THANK YOU!
Free Download
I hit 3,000 Facebook fans a week or so again. Each time I hit another 1,000 new fans I create a free download for y’all as a small token of my appreciation for you sharing my blog and page with your friends! This time around I have a 33 page PDF title “Improve Your Photos No Matter What Camera You Have”. I dive into different topics like lighting, composition and the dreaded self portraits! You can use these tips with your iPhone, point and shoot or DSLR! I hope you find some useful information! Head over to the Facebook page for the free download!
Clickin’ Moms
If you have read my blog for more than 5 minutes than you know how much I adore the site Clickin’ Moms. It is a forum based photography site with over 8,000 helpful, kind, encouraging members! There is so much on the site to learn, I could read it all day every day for a year and still not soak up all the information. I am constantly referring people to Clickin’ Moms if I don’t have the answer to their question, heck, even if I do have the answer I still refer them :O)
They have the forum broke into different topics. Seriously, anything you want to know about photography can be found here! Here is a quote from their home page:
“Black and White. Film. Children. Street Photography. Processing. Lighting. Artistic Development. And more. Bring your questions, dive into a discussion, or just do some reading alongside thousands of other women who love photography as much as you do. Come grow with us!”
If I had to pick one place where I have learned the most about photography it would be, hands down, Clickin’ Moms.
They are running a special right now for 10% off a standard membership. Use the code FRIEND at checkout. Only good for new members. Good through April 30, 2012. Hurry up!

I would LOVE to download this freebie but I do not have a facebook account, are you offering this freebie some other way? Thanks.
No, I’m sorry! Currently, it is a Facebook exclusive freebie. That is not to say later down the road I may open it up again as something for newsletter followers or just on the blog. Sorry!!
Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. It really is appreciated. I stumbled across your site (I think from visiting CM) and signed up on FB and get your newsletters each week. Thank you for New Zealand!!
Thanks so much Courtney! You’re the best! ;)
I received a message that the site for the download is temporarily unavailable. Do you know how long it will be down? I would love to get my download:)
Yikes! I’ll look into it!! Thanks for letting me know!!
Okay, I just tried to download it and it it worked. Maybe try again. Let me know if you are still having problems!!
Hi Courtney! Thanks so much for the freebie! I love having such great information that is quick and easy to read! Love your site too, and I just became a CM Lifetime member!!! Congrats on your success with your blog as well :)
Courtney – the download worked wonderfuly! Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together, I am new to photography and I am trying to learn all I can. My son is graduation from high school in May and I haven’t had the money to purchase a flash yet, any ideas or tips to take the “special moment” photos (this is indoor)? I am not real good with taking photos indoors. (I have a Canon Rebel T3) Thanks again for the free download!!
So glad it worked for you :O) Do you shoot on manual? If so, keep your ISO really high if indoors for something like a graduation. However, if you aren’t comfortable with manual please don’t risk missing a shot at your son’s graduation and just shoot on auto or what you normally shoot. I would say definitely use a zoom so you can try and capture some close up shots. Good luck!! Congrats to you and your son!
