Photography Gift Ideas

I’m sharing with you a few reason why I decided to co-host this Top 5 Giveaway. Yesterday, I talked about how it helped you to document your photography journey. Today I wanted to share some gift ideas that you can use these photos for.

Last year for Christmas we decided to start a gift that we could add to each year. I went through my photos from the year and picked my 10 favorite. To be honest, they aren’t a true representation of the year because it would have taken me HOURS. So basically I picked ones from August to December. However, had I picked my Top 5 photos each quarter it would have been a true representation of the year as well as saved me tons of time around the holidays when I already had TONS to do :O)

I sent these 10 pictures off to Color Inc and had them printed as 8×10 with a styrene mount. I bought a little easel for a few dollars and now they had 10 photos of my family they could change out throughout the year. We sent it in this photo safe storage box that cost $12. We were able to do this for both my parents and my in-laws. It was a huge hit!

{In my haste to get this gift sent in time for Christmas, I didn’t have time to take any photos. Thank you to my mom for taking this picture for me on super short notice!}

The best part about this gift is the box can hold a ton more pictures so each year we will pick our top 10 to send them each Christmas.

We all know how much grandparents love pictures of your kids and they have professional quality prints they can change out each month.

Some other ideas to use these Quarterly Top 5 photos throughout the year:
- A photo book of the year.
- A calendar of your best photos
- Coasters

What other photo gift ideas can can you come up with? Let’s add to the list!

  1. I love this idea!! I just shared it with Sam and think I will do this for my parents next year.

    This past year, I made a photo travel coffee mug for my dad and Sam. It was a nice gift for my dad, who loves coffee, travels a lot, and lives far from me.

    Thanks for this wonderful post!!

  2. We have done mugs and year in picture books. I really like this idea. All my MIL wants is pictures and I hate giving her the same things over and over.

  3. Thank you for saving me a whole lot of brain work for future presents!!

  4. That’s actually a great idea that I’ll use once we have children. I find it so tricky to think of great gifts that my family will love since my prints seem to be more artsy, ya know?
