I’m 20 weeks! Can you believe it? Half way to getting to meet our little blessing.
This photo (and the more to come) were inspired by a series I shared about a year ago by Pacing the Panic Room: The Belly Picture Series of his wife Cole.
I know I shared this on the Facebook page already but I wanted to let those who aren’t fans know too. (See what you are missing if you aren’t a fan on Facebook :O)
We found out the gender of the baby about two weeks ago. We wanted to do something fun and special to share with our families. We had the ultra sound technician write the gender on one of the pictures and we tucked it away (not looking). We then took a GIGANTIC box to the balloon shop, handed them the picture (not looking) and asked them to fill the box with pink or blue balloons. I sent a friend to pick up the box just incase they said “25 blue balloons?”.
Once we got the balloons home we realized the box wouldn’t fit in the house. Oops! Not even through a window, we tried. We called my parents, Ian’s parents, my sister, my brother, and Ian’s brother over Skype and Facetime so we could all find out together. It was such a fun way to find out what we were having!!
I had set up my camera to take continuous pictures while we opened the box…or so I thought. Unfortunately, it didn’t work and I don’t have any images of us opening the box. I made everyone come inside so I could take a few of us with the balloons. This is me at 18 weeks.
So much fun :) What a brilliant way to do a reveal of the baby’s gender!

Congratulations Courtney!! Just love, love, love the idea of the photos and balloons! Makes me want to have another baby just to take the photos to document it…hee hee. Don’t think my hubby with go for it though! ;) So sweet! I look forward to the comming weeks photos!
