For Christmas, I would like to actually get some clients!
Ha! Too bad you can’t buy them on Amazon :) Keep working hard! You will get them!
I actually just got the 35mm/f1.8. I was supposed to test it to see if I like it and put it up until Christmas but it hasn’t happened. I have a 50mm/f1.8 already. Wanted something I could use inside without having to step so far back.
That would be hard to put the 35 1.8 back on the shelf :) I know a lot of people who love that lens :)
Hey Courtney…Did you like People Pictures??? Is it a book I should put on my amazon wish list? Did you do the exercises and notice a difference in your photos?? I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’ve been busy with photo shoots…yay! I’ve done three and it’s really increased my skill and creativity…just what the doctor ordered. Juli
Hey! I do like People Pictures! I haven’t had a chance to really dive into it but I have read over some of the lessons. I like the set up of the book. I’m so excited for you to have done 3 photo shoots!! Yay!! Hope you are getting out of your funk :)
Funk cured! If you have time check out my facebook fan page…www.facebook.juliisolaphotography. It’s brand spanking new and still needs a lot of polish but it’s a start.
So glad to hear that!! Will definitely check it out!
I really want a tripod and remote so my husband doesn’t always need to help me with style posts :) This is a great list!
A tripod is a definite must! Hope Santa brings you one :)
I just sent an email to my husband to get me that book about taking portraits. Looks great!
Hope he takes the hint :) he he
I actually have that same lens pen cleaner on my wish list! Had to get a whole new setup last month (bad accident with my previous body) and I’m finding my new lens is prone to little people finger prints. (I have no idea how my 2 year old keeps touching it…) I switched from Canon to Nikon as well, so a new 50mm would be nice, too. I think my hubby blew his budget with the unexpected purchase… haha
Isn’t it amazing how two year olds can get their finger prints on everything :) Hope Santa brings you a 50mm :)
I’m so glad I found your blog. I find so many great tips here and this is no exception. It’s like you read my mind! I’ll be leaving this strategically open on my desktop for my husband to ‘find.’ Thanks!
Aww, thanks! I’m glad you found it too ;) Hope he gets the hint :)
Other than clients, I would love a 35mm 1.4 and a 105mm macro. Winning the lottery would be helpful for my photography addiction.
Courtney-
These are great ideas. My kids and I all have caught the photo-bug and I might just splurge on some of the stocking stuffer gifts like the lens pen or the camera shaped USB flash drive. How cool is that! I do have a question- my son (15) would like a good video camera with an external microphone port for making films. We’ve looked at several comparison sites but there are so many to choose from and the prices for higher end cameras are quite daunting. We do have a Canon Legria vidcam, and all our other cameras are Canon family. Any advice or direction on where to look for good advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your very informative site ♥
Hey Sandi,
I wish I could help but I’m not familiar with all the video options or sites that could help. Best of luck!
