Have you ever sat down and made a bucket list of things you wanted to photograph some day? It is a wonderful exercise that I encourage you all to do. Plus, this would be a great go-to list if you are in a slump to get your juices flowing. I started up a list last night and even had the help of a few of my friends and my mom. I left some extra spaces so I could continue to add to it.
You can download mine here.
What is on your photography bucket list??
When you get to the Statue of Liberty, don’t forget to get Ellis Island, the harbor ferries, and the amazing NYC skyline at night.
This is a wonderful idea! I already had a sort of unofficial list of things that I want to photograph but hadn’t really considered making it an official list. Some of my items are the same as on yours. Quite a few of mine include taking a trip to somewhere else… like ivy covered houses in Ireland. I am going to make a list too. As always thank you for your inspiration!
Love this! This is such a wonderful idea for thinking about where you are with your photography journey and where you want to go. I enjoyed reading yours as it planted some seeds for a list of my own. I plan to do this is the very near future. Thank you so much for sharing!
I LOVE this! What a wonderful way to find inspiration and ideas for future pictures. Your list is fabulous and I cannot wait to start working on my own!
That little lot should keep you going for a wee while. Lol. Great list!!
Great idea Courtney! I have a running bucket list, but now that you mention it I could add several of those items to my list and I have marked several of those items off (ie. full rainbow, sailboat in sunset). However, I am still wanting to capture more Long Exposure and Panning shots that I really like. I know this is more of a type of photography, but part of my bucket list nonetheless.
I can’t wait to capture a pillow fight when my little guy is old enough.
Love this! I’m sitting here checking off the things I’ve done on your list, when I should be making my own. Thanks for the idea :)
What a great idea!
i think i’ll just use your list! j/k i managed a first kiss as a married couple a few years ago. but, so many on your list are truly good inspiration. i’d add . . . oh, i don’t know. that’s what those lines at the bottom are for, right? :)
That is such a great exercise! LOVE IT! I am for sure going to do this!
I love this idea! I think I am going to print yours and use it til I can find time to sit down and make my own! ;)
Been thinking about a list like this for awhile but not done anything about, thanks for giving me the push to get on and do it. Love the blog btw.
These are some great ideas you’ve thought up, Courtney!
This is a creative approach to a bucket list! I recently came up with my top-of-the-head list, but I like the idea of a situational vs. locational list (did I just make up a word?).
Thanks for inspiring me to turn my list on its side and think about it in a different way!
Lee…
What a great idea, I am going to start my list tonight!!!!! Thanks for sharing yours.

Hi! I’m an amateur photographer and I’m learning digital photography through blogs, books and magazines. I’m so glad I found your blog, I bet it will be very useful to improve the quality of my photos. I absolutely love your idea of making my own photography bucket list. I just started to be a ‘photographer’ so my list will be endless!
Thank you so much! So glad you added photographer to your list :)
One exciting technique I would add to the bucket list is, Burnt Steel Wool on a beach at night, spelling out words like, “I Love You”
