Excited about our Have You Met series where I showcase YOU, the photographers of our community. We had over 400 photographers apply for the series in less than a week. I can’t wait to showcase the talented photographers. There is a mix of hobbyist and business owners as well as full-frame and crop sensor users. This may be my new favorite part of the site.
This post contains affiliate links. Thanks in advance for supporting Click it Up a Notch. I am no longer accepting applications for this series.

No.01Tell us a little about yourself and your photography journey.
My name is Kerstin, I am 28 years old and I live in Austria/Europe. Years ago I have noticed, that I really liked shooting pics with my iPhone. But I wasn’t really happy with the quality and soon I was stretched to its limits. So I bought a beginner DSLR camera (Sony Alpha). My favorite photographic model is the everyday life. I love to go through the city I live and just capture a simple moment. I also enjoy photographing architecture and landscape. What I really love the most, is giving pictures a special expression by setting them into black and white. After two years of shooting with the Sony Alpha, I wanted a smaller and easier camera, so I bought a Fujifilm A X1 system-camera. It’s really easy to handle and the quality of the pictures are great. Some of my friends gave me chance to get in touch with portrait photos. First I thought it would be out of my depth, but I got really comfortable with it and I was content with the outcome.

No.04What type of background do you have? Self taught? Formal training? Mentor?
I am a typical self taught amateur photograph, I never read any books or went to any workshops. The only thing I didn’t find out on my own, was editing my photos. But a friend of mine is a good photographer and he was so kind to show me how Lightroom works and gave me some essentially advices.
