June Top 5 Quarterly Link Up
Lifestyle

I love our Top 5 Quarterly link up!! I love forcing myself to go through my photos and pick my favorite. I have so many new ones that I love since I have taken two workshops since our last link up!! Here you go!!

As you know Kate is a huge reader. I know she is dying to actually learn to read but until then she makes up wonderful stories.

The girls love to have “horse races” on the arm of this chair. We must announce it like a Kentucky derby race (Papa’s creation) and it a huge hit around our house. After this one race, Emma decided to play peek-a-boo another favorite.

Here they are playing “Ariel and Flounder”. They swam up and down this hall for a while.

Fun at the park!

Her first ice cream cone :O)

Here’s how it works:
  • Go through the photos you have taken of your kids or pets (I remember how my pets were my kids before my kids were my kids :O)  Just choose photos taken from April 2011-June 2011.
  • Post your top 5 on your blog or flickr account on June 30th – July 6th
  • Link up with the linky either here @ Click it Up a Notch, Amber’s Articles, or Nap Time Momtog
  • Put our button on your post.  If the button is not there you will not be eligible to win

Since we love you guys so much we were able to get some fabulous sponsors for this link up!  Check out these amazing prizes!!

$25 gift card to Wild Olive Tees. If you have not heard of this company, I highly suggest you check it out! I have two of their tees through their adoption support section!! Beautiful products for a beautiful cause!!

Your choice of a 11 x 14 print from Katie Lloyd Photography

A slot in Faith’s July Simply Photography E-class

And…if we get 100 entries we also have a gift card to make a Blurb book for $36.95. What a perfect way to save those pictures and memories in a book!!!

Please remember this is NOT A PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST! The winners will be chosen randomly. That means we could have up to 4 winners!! So what are you waiting for! Start searching through the past three months of photos and select your Top 5! Feel free to add this button to your blog so others know you will be participating!!

Click it Up a Notch

The link up for the “I Clicked it Up a Notch” photography contest is still open.

I adore the Ariel and Flounder photo! That is just too cute!

  • June 30, 2011 at 8:44 AM

Does it have to be of my kids (I don’t have any!) or can it just be the top five pictures I’ve taken of kids (in general) this past month. I’ve got a lot of friends with cute kids I’d love to “show off”!

    • June 30, 2011 at 9:28 AM

I don’t have a problem of you sharing pictures you’ve taken of kids. Plus these pictures can be from April, May, or June. Shh! Don’t tell anyone I said it’s okay :O) he he

These are just darling photos of your girls and so well done. Looking through your 365 your latest courses have really brought a new level to your photos. I’d love to do a course but don’t know where to start.
By the way we do ABC Reading Eggs (online reading program) with our son, he’s just turned 5, but I started him when he was 4. We do the Australian one but I’m certain they have other versions, for the accents. It’s game based and he loves it. He reads pretty well now and does Intrepica (another online program) through school, but it’s a bit harder.

Thanks Sara! I appreciate you saying that about my photos!! I will have to look into the ABC Reading Eggs! Thanks!!

Love the perspective in the photo of Kate on the playground. The girls just look like they are having a blast!!

I think next year we are going to have to open it up to photos of any/all family members, because I have had a few friends ask me about it.

  • July 1, 2011 at 11:49 AM

I love your entries. I should think about that class you talked about it. I can have some help with inspiration.

    • July 1, 2011 at 12:43 PM

It’s fantastic!! I took it through Clickin’ Moms and Sarah teaches it! It’s called Rock Your Vision: 301 Creativity and Composition!! It changes the way you photograph!!

      • July 4, 2011 at 3:43 AM

I really need to look into this course!

  • July 1, 2011 at 9:56 PM

great pictures. love the ice cream one. making up stories and retelling stories through the pictures IS the first step in learning to read. You maybe surprised to see how much she actually already knows about reading. that is great!

  • July 1, 2011 at 11:07 PM

I love the last one of her eating her first ice cream cone. Looks like she was really enjoying every bite!

  • July 3, 2011 at 12:05 AM

Love the shot of Kate reading, but my favorite would have to be the ice cream.
I finally bit the bullet and narrowed down my shots so I could post to link up on time this quarter.

  • July 3, 2011 at 11:24 AM

I really like the softness of your black and whites, as well as the composition. So compellling!

  • July 4, 2011 at 3:44 AM

Wonderful Top 5! I adore all of them, but the first and last make me swoon. If the course has given you vision like this, I really do need to look into it. I really enjoy your posts and have learned so much from your site; thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us!

  • July 6, 2011 at 3:48 PM

I love the creative perspectives on these and the beautiful black and white processing! And how can you beat first ice cream? Beautiful eyes! Lovely photos!

  • July 7, 2011 at 11:30 AM
